1997 e420 blower motor woes

Just get the slightest hint of air I think it's just the low setting. Heat and AC both work just need some airflow. Look at the video and you'll see what I'm dealing with thanks for your help as always. FYI I need to leverage the search engine please forgive me

You need a new blower motor regulator that you can buy from ebay for $20 or so. You have a metal frame blower so you have the old style blower regulator which looks like a matchbox at the bottom of the blower. When you get the regulator, make sure you get one with some supply of heatsink paste between the regulator frame metal and the bottom of the regulator (or get heatsink paste from radio shack if they are still around ) Use very sparingly, just smear it to cover the metal imperfections (of course clean the metal mating surfaces well. Get rid off the old paste completely.

Just an example

Mr boca I got my regulator harness in and installed today. I have not tried it yet because I do not have the heatsink paste. Can I turn the car on and at least check to see if this fixes my problem? Or do I need to get that regulator mounted first? I have no skills in this department. I mean I have never even heard of heatsink paste. Lol. Thx man

I guess for testing you can mount the regulator to the frame and make sure that the frame mating surface is clean and shiny For actual installation use :

or something like this available from a local electronic store. You need very little, maybe in the amount of 3 rice grains.
