Where can i find my OBD2 connector on my W210 E200 Kompressor 09/2001 ?
If i am correct a 2001 W210 should have the connector near the red hood release handle.
There is no connector no lid to open. Nothing to find under the dash.
I only have found the round connector in the fuse box.
yeah, my first thought was that he doesn't have one (called EODB) but my notes
also indicate that it should have been there for 2001 petrol cars. perhaps his
was right at the cutoff or something. here in the USA the port needs to be
within 2' of the steering wheel - unknown if same standard for Euros.
Did the 210 or 129 ever get a 16 pin under the dash, no 210's in the uk have one, re the 129 my 129 had the cut out, but only the 38 pin plus I cannot recall ever seeing this 16 pin in WIS for either
I guess support of OBD2/EOBD protocols and support of a 16-pin DLC with OBD2/EOBD are two different things. I happened to know someone from Down Under with 2001 E200 K with both 38 and 16 pin connectors, so 16-pin DLCs do exist outside the USA too.
OBDII become mandatory in USA in 1996 and I heard MB start putting them on all models about 2002, so depends on the market it will wary.
My 19998 models E and SL have/had both OBD and 38 pins. 1998 ML320 only OBD
The 2004 and up models E only OBD.
The cable which is available on e-bay, is to big to close the lid of the fuse box with the cable installed. I have an ELM OBD2 bluetooth adapter and i was looking for a permanent solution to leave ELM adapter installed. So i can use Torque pro or dashcommand on my phone or headunit.
Under the dash next to the hood release handle there is a flat spot that is reserved for the obd2 connector, should it be possible to take a connector and a wire loom from a another w210 car ? so lets say i want to make an upgrade ?
Can't you just open the 38 pin connector shell and insert the pins to the car 38 pin connector (female) ? Only 3 or 4 wires are used anyway.
