The key turns too far when it am trying to start the car and the engine wont catch. It seems that the assembly is turning not just the key. Any ideas that won't cripple my bank account?
Thank you
On this late car it will be an EIS switch and they are no cheap, never heard of this one before,, I have a faulty on in the workshop, I will look to see what could be broken.
You could try removing the driver side trim (bottom portion) and adjust the lock cylinder until the car starts in that position....
...then apply a generous amount of JB weld to the outside of the lock cylinder and let it dry.
Then it'll stay in that position, and if you ever need to swap the lock cylinder out, all you have to do is to chip at the JB weld with a pick and hammer.
