Lucas oil Injector cleaners products

I recently used some Lucas oil injector clean on my E430 and I swear the car seems to run much smoother. Has anyone used this product regularly and had good results?

I can swear my car does the same after vacuuming the interior.
Human senses suck and relaying on impression is not proving anything.
Would you have 0-60 times before and after, that would tell us something.

A lot of people claim the various Lucas products are good ones but I have never tried any. But I add 20oz of Chevron Techron Concentrate to all my cars every 3000 miles to clean the fuel system. I don't know if that does anything but it has MB approval.

My Recent Experience

Dad passed away last September, the last surviving member of his fighting unit from WW II. A few weeks ago, I flew from Detroit to Dallas to settle some family estate business. My brother gave me their 1997 E320, and it had been driven very little in the last couple of years of his life - short trips to the grocery store or doctor's appointments..... 69K on the odometer.

Not very often anyone just gives you a Benz....

I cleaned her up a bit, filled her up with Mobil 1, got some Lucas fuel injector cleaner, and filled her up with premium unleaded.

First tank : 21.5 MPG, but that included two hours in snarled rush hour traffic (won't do THAT again if I can help it).

Second tank : 24.5 MPG through the hills of Arkansas and Kentucky. I passed a couple of tractor/trailers at 95+ MPH - she still had plenty of spunk and was running well.

Third tank : 27.5 MPG for the home stretch. The old E320 had found her legs again, and was running like the proverbial sewing machine.

I haven't yet filled the tank again, but I suspect my mileage will be between 27-28 MPG. She's been driven a bit on some errands around town, and seems to be running very well.....she just needed to stretch her legs.

A new set of Michelins may contribute slightly to that gain, but I suspect the Lucas product helped a great deal. Not scientific, just my opinion. YMMV.

Wow 27mpg is fantastic for a car of our size. Oh well I just wanted to get some feed back on my $5 investment.

I hear ya. I'm quite happy with what I'm getting out of her now. The Lucas products do seem to help.

This is true, but the best Top Tier brands contain the right amounts of both. You might not get the proper percentages of cleaners if you always buy at discount, no name vendors.

Most of my friends laugh behind my back, and some in my face, when I try to explain the benefits of using Top Tier fuels. All our local stations are within pennies per gallon of each other so why take a chance? I always use Shell or Exxon but I still add Chevron Techron every 3000 miles as my OCD nature dictates that.

Our friends in Marietta Georgia have some Raceway And Race Track gas stations they use because they say cost significantly less than the Shells and Chevrons there. I don't think they use cleaning additives and they report no fuel system problems.

The government mandates detergents in all gasolines, but Top Tier gasolines have higher levels.
