Is it me or do AUTO buttons on climate control interface just not work?
I realize this is my first post, and it screams out noob, but the left and right AUTO buttons on my climate control interface don't do anything. Out of the numerous buttons/switches found throughout the car, these two are the only ones that don't respond. I figured that it may be more than a coincidence that they both aren't responding. (If only one of them responded, I would've quickly concluded that the one that didn't respond was defective, but both not responding made me suspect user error.)
Anyway, am I missing something here on how to operate the AUTO feature, or do the AUTO buttons simply not work in my case? That's to ask, is it just a coincidence that they're the only two buttons/switches in the car that don't work, and they're symmetrical in their lack of operation?
When I say the AUTO buttons don't respond, I also mean that the circular indicator lights on the buttons don't light up when the buttons are pressed (however, the words "AUTO" are illuminated on the buttons when the headlamps are turned on).
Additionally, the only time I've been able to get the word "AUTO" to display on the climate control screen is when the engine is off, and I've pressed the residual heat button. Even in that setting, the AUTO buttons do nothing when pressed.
Sounds to me like you may need to replace your A/C control head. Hopefully you'll be able to pull the codes and know for sure because you need to use the Auto buttons to cycle through the error codes.

Try this.Keep pressing the fan speed button about 5 or 6 bars ,and then increase or decrease the temp selector depending in what temp climate you are in.If nothing happens ...your climate control unit is cooked
Is the fan on...if not the system is off and nothing will work.
The fan is on. All the other buttons on the climate control interface work fine (as do all the other buttons/switches in the car). It's only the AUTO buttons that don't do anything when pressed.

As far as I can recall, there are no lights that turn on on the actual Auto buttons when pressed. Only the word 'Auto' appears on the AC display.
But I may be wrong, since I only look at the display.
