Hi,
I don't know if I want to get into pearl as I think that this would require an experienced and a seasoned painter to do. I am planning on doing this myself and am certainly not seasoned nor experienced at all.

Why I want to do it? Well, I would like to keep the car for a while longer and it is in excellent mechanical condition and runs like a Swiss watch, however I am sick of the color and want a different color so I would enjoy looking at it and washing it and waxing it. To me, a $6000 car is definitely not worth worrying about whether a color change would decrease the value or not. It is my beater and it does show excellent but I want it to look different and want it to remain my beater for a while longer. It only has 115k miles on it.

You and I after the same color as I need to paint my $1000 W140.

I like the color of the truck on post Number-11. Now, the new Chevy Camaro's have a deep dark metalic blue.

My original color on my W140 is dark blue non-metalic, and I do not want to deal with painting every little crevice of the door jambs and engine compartment. I want to stay with a shade of blue.

My W140 has a grey interior; therefore, I could get away with black, but then I'd have to do a lot of block sanding, so the color looks great. A lot of work.

I'd like to paint it white, but I have to primer/paint every blue surface. Its getting too cold to paint here in Northern California.

I like the color of the truck on post 11. I have to go the Chevy dealer and check it out.

Pearl is just another coat on the top of paint. If you spray main coat evenly, you should have no problem with pearl coat. The site I linked advise spraying pearl over the driveways and stones as well. I might just give it a try on our stepping stones
Now glow pigments might be really something
