1999 E430 Tune-Up
I wanted to ask for some help and guidance in tuning up my E430. I have some connections that i can use to get authentic MB parts on the cheap. at this point i just need some help understand what i need to replace for a full tune up. I am also not certain if my car needs the wires or coil packs. so basically a checklist of items needed for a complete tune up would be great. I have had car for several years now and have only once had a complete maintenance done on it. I recall how it felt after that maintenance. I also recall how much I had to pay MB for the work.
the E Class is nothing to sleep on. I have taught a few Audi drivers a serious lesson or two in this car. I would like to keep it at least for a couple of more years before passing it along to someone else in my family. in the main time i would like to keep the performance up on it. (WDBJF70H0XA822799) here is the serial number for my 430 if this helps to answer the question of coil packs or wires. also which spark plugs are recommended?
I searched the forum but didn't find any helpful information. Thanks in advance for any help!

It's going to depend on how many miles are on the car. These are low maintenance cars, compared to some older vehicles.
I've not heard of replacing the ignition coils unless they have failed. If you use the correct tools to remove the wires from the spark plugs, the wires should not need to be replaced with new ones.
I would flush and replace the coolant, if you don't know when it was last done.

Here is what I would do. On a 100,000 service.
First clean the fuel system by adding either Sea Foam or Techron, follow the directions on the bottle. One full tank treatment is good, but I do two and I do not do any work on the engine till all the treated fuel is consumed.
Second when the tank is almost empty change fuel filter refill tank with premium fuel
Third change spark plugs, the current best is the NGK I believe. This is a good time to replace the wires too, may not be necessary but I would do it. Coils should be fine.
Fourth Replace air filter and clean MAF
Fifth change oil & filter
Sixth change coolant
Seventh change transmission fluid and filter.
Drive car and check for smooth stable idle as well smooth acceleration then check mileage on the highway you should be able to get 24-26 mpg if not.
Eight replace O2 sensors
Ninth exchange power steering fluid.
Tenth load test battery and replace if necessary.
Here is a good tune up read,

Those care do self-tuning each time you turn the key.
No need to do any special maintenance besides scheduled service. It is all listed in manual.
With the exception of transmission service
