Angry Bulb H6W LL 12V 6W, Philips item # 2036LL

Huh, looking for this bulb in stores since this morning. No luck so far in stores like AutoZone, Advance Auto Parts, O’Reilly Auto Parts, and Philips distributors. Dealership has it in the stock and asking over 10$ for bulb size you can lose in pocket. Is there any place in Chicago area that carry on this bulb, if someone knows?
Bulb is for position lights a.k.a smaller circle light on front.

You probably spent close to $10 in fuel going to those various retailers, or did you let your fingers do the walking? In any event, autohausaz.com apparently has any bulb you might need, now or in the foreseeable future. Order 1 or 2 of each and you should reach their minimum of $50 for free shipping. If not, throw in an oil, cabin or air filter and you will surely be there.

You can find the same base

in a 4 watt at most auto stores.
Or call around to some of the metric motorcycle shops in your area. Some makes use the h6w as a side light marker bulb.

base is all that BAX9S mumbo jumbo after the wattage designation.

17mm special spark boot tool
O2 plug and play sensors
16mm spring loaded swivel spark socket
trans dipstick and magnet

YM gave you a long list.

Try these two: Sylvania 64132 or Philips 12036.

If you do not mind a little darker, then Sylvania 3893 (T4W) bulb could be used for the H6W.

Has anyone replaced the housing for this bulb? I went to replace this bulb once before and the housing had been cracked and repaired with electrical tape by the previous owner and was just shoved into place. I'd like to fix it right, but can't invest in new headlight assemblies. Any suggestions?

I'd suggest ebay or a wrecking yard for the assembly, I don't think the housing is a separate item from the stealer.

As far as the bulb goes, VW dealers usually have them and sell them for less than the MB dealers.

Also, if you're in a major metro area, hit a parts store that specializes in european cars, like BAP, etc. They usually will have these quirky MB bulbs, but often at prices close to the stealer. As MM says, work up an order with autohausaz and include a couple of every bulb, that way you can have spares ready to go anytime you need them. That's what I did, then I wrapped them in bubble wrap and put them in a little cheapo rubbermaid container in the trunk.

Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy; its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery. (Winston Churchill)
