I doubted that you caused damage because the fluid is above 50 C.

Finally got the problem fixed!

Had to get the conductor plate replaced. Turned out that the speed sensor on the conductor plate is cracked ( black plastic ).

The EGS code was '109' - Speed Sensor n3 defective.

Good to hear. These Mercedes are quite accurate about the problem.

Did you have a dealer changed it?

Mine still has not gone to limp yet.

I got it replaced at an independent mechanic. I was charged $655 ( parts + labour ).
Parts : Conductor Plate, Fluid, gasket, AT connector, AT filter.
Labour : 3.5 hrs.

Good for you. Maybe your car just needed a Transmission code reset.

Thanks, but I am not holding my breath on that. So they replaced your new connector and I think that is wise. I do not see filter in there.

I have a road trip coming up (driving the wagon) and will order the conductor plate and replace it when I come back.

DIY Conductor Plate RR

Everyone has a happy ending.

Op (Sri) had his conductor plate replaced by an Indie and all is well.

I replaced the conductor plate by myself today and all is also well. Here is a DIY writeup in PDF format (with photos) and also a picture of the valve body to get you in the mood reading the DIY article. It looks a little like open heart surgery, LOL.

We can happily close this thread now.

Edit: I re-uploaded the DPF file because I found a few typos.

Thanks.

I thought so before as well because I had never opened up a transmission. Fluid/filter change was all I had done. However, with all the knowledge I accumulated, there is no fear. The key here is accurate diagnosis.

If my old back/brain can do it, your younger ones can also do it as well, probably faster and better.

No no, my brain is filled with fat and cholesterol, while yours is filled with knowledge and experience. Prof, do you have the WIS for cleaning fuel injector for 210.065? Thank you in advance, wanted to email you already, but since you are here, may as well ask here

I'll look. I doubt they have a cleaning article. They probably have a RR article.

What is wrong with your injectors? Slight leaking? Try some Techron first and it does wonders, especially to warn start issues.
