Hi, after a long hour of searching through the forums and still unable to find an answer, I need some help in deciding which oil is better for my car among the following two:

1) Mobil Delvac 1 5W-40
2) Mobil Delvac MX 15W-40

I have a 2001, E220 CDI.

Thanks!

True, but he has a diesel and diesel drivers here often use different oils.

OP, if you are in a place that it never falls below 20F you can use either, but the 5W40 you can use anywhere on the planet.

However, make sure that they meet MB spec, whatever you pour in there. :)

Take care and enjoy the ride,
Greg

Thanks guys for the help!

Unfortunately the only good oils that are available in my region are the ONLY two (for diesel) that I have mentioned above. So basically its just a matter of picking one out of the two.

Cost wise Delvac MX costs half as compared to the Delvac 1 in my region. But that is not important. I just want the right thing for my car irrespective of the price. Also, from what I know MX is mineral based and Delvac 1 is synthetic.
