2000 E320 Trunk wont open HELP!!

Hi,
All of a sudden my trunk wont open. Not by the key, center console switch, or the trunk button. No light on saying its open either. everything else works except the trunk. I will need to at least temporaraly get into the trunk so please let me know how to do it? I have the rear seat out and did not want to take off the battery cable in fear that my radio will need to be tended to. Can someone help? Thanks as usual.

When u say not by the key, u meant remote key or "real" key.
I know that there's a valet key for the trunk when u giving your remote key to someone else, so your trunk cannot be opened in regular ways.

It might be someone locked your trunk with real key and it won't open now.

any updates to this situation? I'm in the same boat. I have the remote key but not the laser key that fits inside the remote. Trunk opened fine before and just yesterday it stopped. The light stays on (on the little knob) but when you push it nothing happens.

Worst case, you get keys made with proof of ownership at the dealer... it's kindof rough going in thru the back seat.

If you lock the trunk with blade key (turn it all the way to the right and remove the blade flat side horizontal) the trunk will not open with electric switches unless the mechanical lock is unlock again. The valet key will not open the trunk, nor the glove compartment, because it is designed for the valets.

My battery had died when the car was locked. I had to unscrew the bolts from the actual hood latchs to get the hood open. (cars being repainted rite now and its easy to unlatch the hood with the headlights out) I got the hood open, Jumped the battery from the terminals in the engine bay, but the trunk still wont open.

Remote I have does NOT have the key in it. Just the bare remote. It worked before but now it wont!

With car unlocked, try inserting the small key on the trunk key slot and rotate it counter clock wise and push. It worked on mine a month ago.

I believe I think, so therefore, I think I believe !

Here is what i did when this happened to me a few weeks ago.
I just solved the problem. The problem with the trunk not opening was a box in the trunk, that was keeping it from opening .What my friend did is exchange the vacuum tube that operates the 4 doors and the gas cap, with the other vacuum tube opening the trunk. What he thought is the one for the doors has certainly more pressure than the one for the trunk. When he pressed the trunk button, the trunk opened right away.the vaccuum tubes are located beside the battery on the passenger side under the rear seat. If I remember well the tubes are yellow. Now I will have to take off my trunk keyhole barrell and try to find a locksmith to repair it if it can be done. Thanks everyone and Ohlord for the help.

Also please look this thread I had started. Good luck.
