PO 410 code
I have a 1998 e320 that I just bought about a month ago. I changed the plugs, wires, fuel filter, cabin air filter, serpentine belt, air filter, oil change, tranny fluid change, thermostat, antifreeze and rear diff. fluid. Used oem mercedes parts. It has 206,000 miles on it and still runs like new. I did all of the service myself just for preventative maintenence. I know have a po410 code. I changed the air pump switchover valve. Didnt change the air pump yet. Want to know what else it could be if I change the air pump and the code comes back?

Check the secondary air injection valves to make sure they function freely then try putting voltage across the air pump with the wiring disconnected. Either a stuck shutoff valve or dead air pump will bring up an 0410 code. If the air pump is dead, check the internal wiring connections to make sure they are still connected. The ones on my air pump had come loose. Simple fix to resolder.
