Can the radio / cd changer from a 99 430 be used in a 98 320? The window sticker on the 320 indicates its CD "ready" and has a CD function on the current radio. Does this mean the wiring is already installed for a CD changer?

All the wiring harness are pre-installed so options can be added later on like CD changer. SO i'm pretty sure the harness is stowed somewhere near the Changer location.
A few years back i had to install a cd changer in a ML 270 cdi , the jeep had audo 10 and the cd changer lines and wires where pre installed , just had to remove the green plastic blank from the head unit and connect the lines .

Some of the 430s came standard with the Bose system and it was an option on the 320s. I don't know who made the lesser radio. That might be an issue, but you should be pre-wired.

Thanks for the response gentlemen. It is NOT compatible!! My 430 w/Bose has a infra-red sensor to the changer. The 320 w/Bose appears to be analog... Oh well I think I will just buy an aftermarket unit that uses a memory stick or USB. CD's are old school anyway
usa w210s were analog through 1998. 99-02 were fiber compliant D2B. 03 on were MOST (fiber). 99 changer (most undoubtedly MC3198 or MC3101) will
not function with the 98 E320 head unit.
