Dashboard cluster issue ad nauseum
Hello Friends,
As soon as I started the car two times now my outside temperature reading was missing pixels (not in succession). After driving for about 5 minutes they came back to normal. I know this is probably a warning that the rest will begin to crap out eventually, but since I don't recall reading about this exact symptom I'd start a new thread. Does anyone have any input?
Regards,
MM

i have had a similar problem with the pixels coming and going, involving the gear selector /time display. i was able to improve (but not cure) it, using the procedure in the diy sticky, i.e.wedging a piece of foam to hold the contacts in place. paul

Hey MM that is what happened to me. The rest of the Pixels on the temp reading will eventually go. Mine appear at different and for a while I was able to read the outside temp. I can no longer read it because not enough come back. I can live with it as I would perfer to spend $1000 on something else. I do not have the time to send it out for repair and after reading some horror stories about people who did send it out to save money and had issues when it came back, well no thank you. IF other pixs go if I still have my car I will take it to the dealer and let them replace it for $1000. It is a flat fee no labor since they said it is done in about 5 minutes once they get it in. I would rather it be temp pixs then any of the other ones
I had the same problem, sent my off to BBA-reman. they fix it like new and life time warranty. Dealer can't fix it, that what they told me. they will tell you it need to be replace. a new cluster with dealer program & labor cost about $1500.
