On my way home today, I ran over what looked to be an air filter of some kind, maybe off a large truck? When I got home and inspected the undercarriage, I noticed an exhaust leak coming from a short piece in the exhaust that looks like an accordion, between the passenger side catalytic near the engine and the other catalytic further back toward the middle of the car. I can see where this flexible exhaust section had been hit by something and damaged the bottom most part, and when the car is running I can feel a small amount of air (exhaust) coming from the damaged area. I don't have any check engine lights on, and the car is running normal. Does any one have any clue as to what I might expect? Will this cause any major problems?
Will I be able to have this repaired as I can image what that entire exhaust section must cost from Benz. I would be greatful for any opinions or advice.
