Car think the boot is open while close?A mistery.
The situation, the red button for the boot in the console is always on, the brain of the car thinking it's open, but it's not. Therefore the remote or the button don't work to open it.
Today I have swap the central lock system pipe from the pump with the boot pipe, it open no bother when I press the door opening from the remote .
How can I go into the brain of the car to tell him the boot is actually close? Or where is the sensor in the boot telling the brain or the switch when the boot is open or close?
Thank you. Olivier

Reason: changing title
The switch is on the left side of the trunk (boot) lid, near the seal. It's depressed when you shut the trunk, shutting off the trunk lamp and indicator lamp. You can also pull it out to shut off the lamps when sitting with the trunk open for extended periods.

I checked the switch, it was looking ok, turrning the light on and off when pressing by hand. It's an old switch and I didn't see how I could pull it out without taking the cover out as it's clamped if I remember properly.
Thank you.
I don't know if there are separate contacts in that switch for the lamp in the interior trunk release switch. If not, it would seem to be a communication problem somewhere.

I'll opening it tomorrow to double check. I got a suggestion of taking the battery off for a wee while to reset the system, I'll do that first then the switch, then I don't know...
Thank you.

Ahh...Now I understand.
Thank you for the trick on pulling the switch, I didn't know what you were talking about but today I just pull it and it turn the light off . I thought i needed to pull it out of the frame. What a great feature. I love mercedes, complicated when you don't know but so well made once you understand. From what I can figure the fault might be in the switch in the barrel, I'll get one or order one from mercedes today. I switch the battery off for awhile but nothing happened. still the same.
To be continued. Thank you very much for taking the time to help.
All the best. Olivier
