Alarm don't work
The alarm is not working at all, I have check all fuse and they are OK. Colse the car window open, wave inside, open the door. Nada. When I lock it with the remote the blinkers gets on, not when I close it?
The button for the towing in the console doesn't even light up. I reckon then that the alarm is disconnected, but from where? Will it be in the front wing? I was told the siren is there, perhaps there is a bad connection?
Thank you. Olivier

The alarm will not work properly if one of the switches (door or trunk for example) is not working.
Also try reseting the car electrical system by removing the battery negative lead.
Good luck

Thank you. This must be it with the alarm as the car think the boot is open while it's close. I'll disconnect the battery tomorrow. Thanks a lot.
How long should I let it disconnected?

didn't work, yet...
Thank you for the tip, I turn the battery off but it didn't work. The system still think the boot is open therefore as you mention the alarm doesn't kick in at all.
I'll get a new barrel switch from mercedes and will replace it as soon as I have it, this is from what I can gather now the only problem left, if this is not it it must be a short circuit somewhere but this will be tricky to to figure it out.
Thank you a lot for hepling. I'll keep the updates.
All the best. Olivier
im thinking that you are talking about the alarm that goes off when you lock your car and somebody opens the door without unlocking it. If im right, you have to wait 30 seconds after you lock your car to fully activate. Just make sure your alarm is engaged by checking your signals blink 3 times.

Hiya. Nop, the alarm is off completly. The car think the boot is open as the light on the switch is on all the time and I was told yesterday that if one lock isn't working the alarm won't work. I order today the swich in the barrel of the boot as this is the only one that I cannot really test. I should have it on friday. If this is not the cause I don't know, a bad wire somewhere...Aarghh... I hope not.
Thank you. Olivier

For reset purpose you only need to remove battery negative lead for 10~20 seconds. I would wait a minute or so..
If the light is always on even when you manually turn the switch off either you have a bad switch or a short in the wire (short in the wire is a very rare case)
