OK SO I JUST DID THE PIXEL REPAIR FOR CLOCK AND TEMP. CLOCK WAS EASY TEMP TOOK 3 YOURS TO GET JUST RIGHT PUT BACK TOGETHER AND NEEDLES WERENT REGISTERING RIGHT, NOTICED THAT DIALS WERE RUBBING ON NEEDLES CAUSING THE CLICKING OTHERS HAVE EXPERIENCED, FIXED AND PUT BACK ALL NEEDLES MOVING SMOOTHLY BUT, MY TACH IS AT 100-200 AT IDLE I THOUGHT WHEN YOU PUT THE KEY IN ALL THE NEEDLES RESET THEM SELVES? PLEASE HELP W/ ANY INFO ITS BEEN A LONG DAY FOOLIN WITH THIS BEAST AND IM BOUT TO PULL OUT MY HAIR ( OR DASH!) THANX
WELL I BELIEVE IT WAS ALWAYS ABOUT 8-900 MAINLY I WANT TO KNOW WHO TO SET IT BACK CORRECTLY IF I MOVE IT BY HAND IT RESETS IT SELF BUT UNLESS MY CAR IS IDLING AT 200 RPM ITS NOT RESETING ITSELF CORRECTLY
So i checked again this morning and after my car warms up and the idle stabilizes its still at like 200-250 any ideas? also if any one will direct me to where i can fill out my profile that would be greatly appreciated. i remembering being asked for one when i signed up but cant find it now.

I can't say what's wrong with your car, but your engine isn't idling at 200 RPM. It won't run that slowly. I would suspect a bad instrument cluster, since your engine is actually running.
tanx matt for the link as far as the cluster it seems to work fine every thing does as its suppose to it just the rpms are about 650-700 lower than theyre suppose to be. but when i hit the gas the tach moves like it should. has anyone else open theyre cluster before? all the other needles seem to go back home after starting no matter where i put them.
It is possible that your needle shifted on the shaft, although I have not heard of this problem before.
If it is consistently 700 RPM off, this may be the case. You could remove the needle (after carefully looking where it rests when off the peg) and place it back in the correct position. Doing this will require removing the instrument panel and dismantling it, so you'll want to know exactly how far to move the needle before you start.
Im sure it was not moved on the shaft i was real gentle with it apart ive searched through thi diy what have other people done with the needles when putting cluster back after repair? like i said gas, temp, speedo all reset when re powered up and seem to be correct but the tach reset and is now off, can i reset guages some how? battery disconnect, some button combo? thanx again guys appreciate any in;put or experiences.
ok i think i figured out myself. all the needles if you move them by hand have something that they hit that stops them in the right spot when reseting. some how when fixing pixel my stopper got pushed to far under zero so i swung the needle past redline and hit the stopper that way and pushed it farther clockwise around there by pushing the zero stopper back towards zero where it should have been. kind of confusing i know but seems to have been the problem thanx for at least answerinbg me matt.
