I am about to purchase a 98 E320 with 133K, however there a couple of issues with it. I want to get a rough estimate of how much in repair cost will I have to set aside if I go through with the purchase. First of all this will be my first 320. I have owned a ML320 up until a couple of months ago for 2 years and I loved it. However, I really want to get a 320 sedan or 320 wagon. Pricewise the car I am considering is reasonable but I don't know if it is worth it yet.

Here is the problem:
The information center is displaying a warning: Brake Lining Wear
The AC is blowing hot air.

So roughly what is your estimate on how much will I have to pay to get it in good shape?

Other info: The car has brand new tires, interior condition is 7 out of 10 and exterior condition is 6 out of 10. A good detail job will probably raise these estimates to 8 out of 10 on both. Engine runs smooth, and no other obvious issues can be noticed. Also, there is no paperwork on what has been done as far as maintanance on the car.

Please give me your thoughts on this I am going to make an offer today.

What's the price? The mileage is pretty high my guess it shouldn't be over $5k with those problems.

Depending on what is wrong with the A/C it could get expensive quickly (you have to tear the car apart to get to the evaporator if bad). On the other hand it could be something simple. New pads and rotors (if needed) wouldn't cost you that much and a relatively easy DIY. Based on what you've told us, I think $5000 is a fair price.

where are you located, i have a 99 e320 silver with black interior..beautiful shape, no problems. 99600 miles. i am in los angeles. $8K cash it is yours. bought a 99 e320 wagon with 94K miles because i just had a baby and i want to be like ohlord!
