Engine Oil

What engine oil do you use? I have always used Mobile 1. I have an opportunity to buy Valvoline or Pennzoil Synthetic for $3.50 per qt vs $6.00 for M-1. I have always believed that you get what you pay for...comments / opinions?

Use an MB-approved oil, minimum spec is MB 229.3. I use Castrol Syntec 0W30 (Made in Germany), MB 229.5

I too use Mobil1 0W40, in large part because it is the least expensive MB spec oil I can find. There are many other options but whenever I stumble across one of them they're more expensive.

If the other synthetics you are considering state on their label that they meet or exceed MB spec 229.3 then you will be using oil that MB approves, so it shouldn't be an issue.

Take care and enjoy the ride,
Greg
