What the heck is this???

What the heck is this thing I found hanging off the back of my car and how do I fix it? I'm sure I can jimmy it back on to wherever it needs to go but honestly I dont have the slightest idea of where that is. Can anyone give me a picture?

Thanks a million!

Jon-Michael

That's what I was thinking... Do you know how to fix it? I really hate being stuck here in 2008.

No - it's a warp drive.

Hey, Jon-Michael. Are you going through a nasty divorce or do you have a suspicious wife? Looks like a tracking device.

Seriously, I've not fully explored the underneath of my car but can't recall seeing anything like that. I'd simply be tempted to raise up the right side and put it on jack stands and get under and look around.

(Or I guess you could unplug it and see what error you get. )

Take care and enjoy the ride,
Greg

In the same vein, or a bomb set to go off when you next start the car? If so, she didn't conceal it very well.

Seriously too, I have no idea.

It looks like a GPS tracker. Someone knows exactly where you are at all times.

It has a MB part number on it so I figure it cant be that threatening unless MB has recently gotten into the car bombing industry. I might just tape it back up there for the time being. Can anyone look it up via the part number for me?

If you google the part number you may find it.

Good idea since you have the number. You can also try Auto Parts at AutohausAZ - OEM Auto Parts - Discount Replacement Parts, Resources and Car Care Tips or Mercedes Benz Parts, Mercedes Parts, Accessories They probably use their own numbering scheme, but might also list the OEM part numbers. Plus, both should employ a search function.
