Found a post yesterday here that helped me fix my non-working key fob. Can't find it today, but wanted to say thanks to whoever posted the fix.
My problem was that one of my key fobs would not open or lock the doors or trunk, but it would start the car. My other key fob worked just fine. Changed the batteries - no help. Then I found a post here that suggested that I insert the bad key fob into the ignition, turn it to position 2 and wait 30 seconds. Did that and it worked!! Saved me a hhundred bucks or more - thank you!!
I'd say the key was resynchronized. It would start the car, but the remote receivers on the car wouldn't recognize the signal to lock and unlock it. At least I had a chance to try the manual key to open the car and know that it works.

Thanks Len, it looks like I got your symptoms backwards. Now I see it was a lock/unlock issue that you fixed with that trick. In any event, glad to hear you're running normally again.
