loose steering shaft sleeve

I have a 97 E320. Anyone else had a problem with a loose steering shaft sleeve that rotates back and forth as you use the turn signal? What do you do to tighten it? Also, thanks to Matt for R134a capacity (1 kg = 2.2 lbs = 35.2 oz). My AC was not cooling sufficiently so I decided to replace all the R134a to be sure I had the correct amount. Did that and no better. Ran diagnostic numbers and all were ok except #5, the evaporator temp sensor. It was reading 118 degrees! Guess that's whats messing up the ACC. Have ordered a new one. Will post results.

Thanks for the quick response! Sounds like a lot of trouble. I wonder if anyone has tried this by drilling a hole in the bottom of the plastic housing??

Just fixed mine last week. Very easy job with the right tools. I don't think taking a shortcut here will work though. Especially not if you have the power tilt/tele wheel. Just make sure you have the right tools and you can do it in under an hour. Just make sure to mark the relationship of the wheel to the hub...had to take mine off twice.
