I still think Greg is idealist.
In my years on the Internet I gain the experience that everything can be a subject to heated dispute. And I am not talking about Chevy/Ford, or gasser/diesel dispute.
On RV forum quite often members fight over the toilet paper brand.
Expecting that human race will change is up to you.
Than coming to technical aspects, I got my mechanical diplomas several decades ago. Coming from different system, country and technical advances I changed my technical principals several times in my life. Some people like to stick to the books. They are the one who still do "Oil change 3000" or "Coolant change every 2 years". I made several technical experiments that prove lot of technical boneheads wrong. Driving with over 30 years COMMERCIAL tire on my motorhome is just one small example.
So I don't mind if a dispute takes heated turn. I learned to ignore any bashing. Knowing that I am right helps

So in my conclusion >>> no matter if there is more or less civilize dispute, it will always bring some knowledge. Just it takes some practice to notice who repeats the books and who talks from real life experience.
