We recently added another E320 to our driveway. This time a '00 E320 4matic Wagon. It did not come with the roof rack cross bars. Looked on ebay and couldnt find any. Does anyone know of a good source for them?
Hey, dcwhybrew, congrats on the latest addition to the driveway. As you probably suspect, the crossbars are dealer-only items, so you could start calling wrecking yards to find them. That high on the body I would bet they are rarely damaged in a collision, so that is a possibility.
If that doesn't pan out, then go to Duvalmotors.com, click on the parts link and fill out a quote request including the VIN. They will email a quote back to you. Duval is an MB dealer that sells at a pretty decent discount.
Take care and enjoy the ride,
Greg

They probably still are in the seller garage. Ask if you can.
I didn't like the OEM bars, because they are narrow, curved and easy to scratch the paint. Having aftermarket bars I used those for carrying stuff much more secured.
Didn't forget to put OEM bars at the time of sale.
Kajtek1, where did you source the ones in the aftermarket? My guess is our OP would be fine with them if they are still available, I didn't think there were AM bars out there. Post the source if you can recall.
I have Yakima (?) universal bars and for about $120 bought brackets at Sport Racks that hold onto MB rails. ML as well. The round bars are plastic coated and over 4' wide, so when I put plywood on them, I still have the ends to tie the rope to.
I wish I took a picture of my wagon with lawn-mower and wheelbarrow on the roof. At the same time.
Ah, those do stand out, so the OP may just want the subtle OEM design.
BTW, the neatest trick is getting the dog to drive. You just relax in the Airstream then and arrive refreshed. Only problem is getting the nav deck to speak canine.
