pvel,
A small amount of investigating will need to take place if you plan to DIY. You should remove the seat from the car and take a look from the underside. You may be able to duplicate the sound by applying pressure to the top of the seat. The issue my be obvious. Let us know what you find.

Makes the same popping noise when making turns...it is annoying but I can't locate the source...must be a design problem. Let us know if anyone can solve the problem.
Thanks
there is a tsb on this problem and a retrofit piece to fix the problem. i think it is like $200 in labor if my memory serves me right. i never had it done though. you will have to do a search for the tsb number.

Did you have this done at Mercedes Benz of South Bay? Mine are doing the same thing, it rocks back when I take off, rocks forward when I slow down, with a "popping" noise.
TSB= technical service bulletin. they are problems that mercedes acknowledges because a lot of people have had the same problem, but they don't cover unless you a mercedes warranty. there was no way i would pay 200 to fix this problem. i opened up the back of the seat and hosed down the area with a nice smelling lube. works great for about 6 months..then hose it down again. just got my wagon, same damn problem....where is the lube? anyone interested in my sedan.....

Same problem on mine - if I gun it from a stand-still, but not much worse than that. I can reproduce by rocking back and forth when stationary. I figured it was just a clip or something.
Interesting to hear that others have the problem... guess it's time to do some research into that TSB.
