Sorry if this has been explained before but can someone briefly explain the difference between the camshaft position sensor and the crankshaft positon sensor?
Thanks in advance,

sensor measures speed of the crank shaft so accurately that it can tell what cylinder is missing if it is missing by noting the change in flywheel speed. So it is used to regulate the firing of the plugs.Cam sensor among other things notes cam position thus the valves to help regulate fuel injection. So they sort of go hand in hand ,but have different symptoms when they fail or start to fail. And we all know which is the more common failure item.

just wondering if replacing your sensor did the job. The same code's coming up for me, and won't clear even after having replaced the sensor. Also, did you notice your selector freezing up and a bas/esp light coming on?
