Here's some more codes that are not in Greg's original list:

B1010 Low voltage Terminal 30E

B1040 CAN - Communication error with engine control unit

B1041 CAN - Communication error with the traction control unit.

B1100 Control line deactivated : PSE/CL CF ATA

B1111 CAN communication fault with TELEAID control unit

B112D AIRCON : receive signal has short circuit to ground

B1133 Airbag module or tension to low

B1453 Fresh air/recirculated air flap actuator

B1712 Alarms triggered via left front door contact switch

B1217 Rain Sensor

N1140 CAN Bus Error

N1141 Set to actual configuration of DB2 ring differs

codes after replacement of water pump

I recently replaced the water pump on my 97 e320 and now have the check engine light on (engine electronics) with the code P0170. Is this coincidence or are the two related? Any hints would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to the forum, Kevin. Please click the user cp link and complete your BW profile re: vehicle and location as that is useful information.

Just a tip, here, but it's always better to create a new thread than hijack one of the DIY threads with a question.

Hopefully one of the mods will see this and migrate it to it's own thread so we don't clutter up this DIY one.

Did you replace the WP or have it done? If the latter, take it back to the shop and have them fix it, it's their responsibility. They could have knocked loose a connection.

If you did it, check the wires for the MAF, make sure the connections are all clean and dry and firmly plugged-in. If they are and the car is running okay then clear the code and see if it returns. If it does go to autohausaz.com and order a new MAF, that's likely the problem.
