If you're not going to read codes, you're going to have to go back to square zero and remove and check every part of the intake. Something is off somewhere, most likely downstream of the MAF or it's the MAF connector or wire itself. I'd still say check codes first (you cleared them with the battery bounce but if it's still that bad you're probably storing them by now) so that you know what you're chasing.
