2002 wagon. fair price?

ohlord wouldn't trade me for his wagon so i have to look elsewhere!! i am thinking about pulling the trigger on a 2002 wagon. looked at the thing today and it is like brand new (and i'm damn hard to impress). no nav or xenon's but everything else. 70,000 miles. 2 years left on a bumper to bumper warranty (no deductible) and it is transferable. brand new michelins and major service (12/07). all service records. not crazy about the gold color though, but i love the tan interior. $14K what do you think? edmunds says $13K and kbb says $19,800 (crazy) nada says $17,200 (still crazy).

$14,000 sounds fair to me and I say that primarily due to the 2 year warranty. I would check and see how many miles that includes however.

Is it dealer, or private party price?
Sounds good for California market if it is dealer's.

Also check where the car originated from. For some reason there seems to be a lot of East Coast/Snow Belt cars in Redondo Beach. If it was originally from outside CA, you may want to check carefully for rust, especially on the spring perches.

I paid 13,200 for ours back in April in the same condition with slightly lower mileage but no warranty. I don't have any idea what the west coast market is like compared to here but that seems like a good deal to me.

forget about options and the b to b is probably not what you think it is if like most aftermarket warranties.$12500 tops private party.If it's a used car dealer something is wrong with it.They bought it at auction for 8grand and slapped a cheap b/b on it.
private party cash talks and as always forget your impressions get it inspected.

yah, it is a private party and the b to b is very comprehensive and seems to be a reputable company (i studied the agreement when i test drove it). belongs to a 55 year old lady. here is carfax. i know it doesn't mean much but for what its worth! sorry this is so long, but i'm trying to get your honest opinions, you guys have never steered me wrong! once again i was blown away by the shape that this thing is in..and i'm ocd.

Looks good to me. I'll differ from ohlord here - I think it's a very good price for SoCal. My only worry would be that it is too good.
By 2002 a lot of the early problems were solved, e.g. cloudy headlamp glass, improved sealing for transmission shifter module, etc. Plus you also have the control buttons on the steering wheel.

Options are what make the car, whats the point of buying a wagon if it has the same options as a honda civic? Navigation, Vented Seats, Bluetooth, etc are what make a car, not having these options is unfathomable once you have experienced them. Its very expensive to add these options later on, so you might as well look for a vehicle that has the options you want, as you will spend a significant amount of time inside the car.
