RAYMOND-

Just got an email from the place I bought the kit. They said the shocks will be fine.
I just checked Koni's site, they only show 1 part # for this car. Bilstein is the only one showing 2 diff. shocks.Koni say's 1995-2002.
I drove the car yesterday and it feels fine. Would like to know the diff. in the 2 shocks.

there is a small part of me that seems to indicate that, okay, it *mmiigghhtt* be
workable even if you used 00-02 shocks in your 99. one would need to get in
contact with Bilstein tech person and ask why they saw fit to make a separate
one for last 3 yrs of 210 model...........instead of staying with one model like
Koni did.

the only reason i can think of would be travel, mounting and weight differences.
these minor differences were considered negligible by Koni.

okay, let's just say that we accepted this from the seller. they have a financial
stake in saying this, as they wouldn't want to take back used shocks and pay
$400 to get new Bilsteins of the proper part #s for you. you have the option
to write to Bilstein and ask why two diff sets of shocks (96-99 and 00-02).

or, you can drive and go with SOP and if the ride is acceptable to you, trust
the seller and just focus on the wheel gap. drive for 50-100 miles and see
how it settles. swap out spring pads to correct the aesthetics.

how do other viewers think about this? (i have one eye on the BBQ and
one eye on the laptop, trying not to overcook.)

just called Bilstein

The newer shocks are 1" shorter. He said I should be fine with them.
