Cool Air Coditioner will not come on..

Hello Forum;

I have a new issue, The system has been leaking for years, usually a can a year or 2, so for 6US a can, I just take 10 minutes and put a can in, no problem.

This year the system went to zero of the #7 cc test, so I tried to just forced in 3 cans of 134, but at the compressor will not come on and suck in more. No matter what I do the ec light stays on!!!

So now it just sits there at 6 bar and is still hot.
Ideas??

results today
1=89
2=76
3=87
4=87
5=85
6=186
7=6
8=93
9=27
10=6.0
11-1.7
12=2.1
20-3.2
21-67
22=57
23=32
24=13.5
40=164
41=91
42=104
43=136

Oh by the way, last year I forced in an ounce of MB compressor oil with the 134.

Any Ideas????

You have a stored code for the low refrigerant level. Reset that code and it might work.

A quiescent pressure of 6 bar may be too much.

If your EC light is on youll have to follow the instructions from our DIY section in order turn it off:

Air Conditioning Diagnosis | EclassBenz.com

Enter the codes and youll see the steps that must be taken in order to turn the EC light off and get your AC to turn back on.

Cool Still on..

I can't get the ^$$% EC light to go off.
I put in the codes and no luck.
I may have done some damage by putting in too much oil last year.
I may have to take this one to the dealer.

What trouble codes are indicated?

Cool Also had other issues...

Oh ya, I had an issue with the rest pump not working due to a weak battery ( that some jerk swaped out with an el-cheapo when I wasn't looking, now have a brand new mb batt.) and the error codes say no rest pump, bad input air temperature reading, and of course no freon.
Also, how do I get the error codes reset???

Try this first:

Follow these instructions to override the sensor. (Your A/C compressor has its own pressure switch, so overriding the 'EC' light will not compromise this safeguard.) Switch the ignition on (position 2). Set the left temperature to 'HI' and the right temperature to 'LO'. Switch the ignition off. While holding the 'REST' button, switch the ignition on (position 2). On the left side, 'P1' will flash and on the right side, a code will be displayed. Press the 'EC' button twice so that the left side flashes 'P2'. Using the right side red temperature increase button, add 16 to the value. Press the 'EC button again to store the updated code. Turn the ignition off.

Don't blindly add 16 to the value. If it has been added before, adding 16 again will reset that bit (and have the effect of adding 32).

First break the number down into base 2. Determine if the 16's place has a 1 or a 0. If it has a 0, add 16. Otherwise leave it alone.

The 16's place in the P2 code will not prevent all occurrences of the code for low refrigerant, so the fact that you have the code does not mean that this modification has not been previously done.

Man - I didnt know that. Thanks Matt. I did this (added 16) and my AC kicked back on, I added refrigerant, and so far no worries colder but not ice cold and codes show #7 at around 14. I do plan to take her in but finding a good indie has been problematic for me and the good gauges cost more than the actual ac job.
