I could not find how to clear the error codes anywhere.
So I did as ol said, hold both Auto buttons while in the error code mode.
The EC light went right off and the system started right up.
It went to 11 bars and 39 at the coils. Just about perfect.
So net net what I did was force in a can of 134, then cleared the error codes.
That takes it out of EC Lock.
After the fact, I messed up the P1-2 but it all works.

In reading about the P2 override setting someone suggested using a base 2 before adding the 16 value. Could someone please explain this further. Thanks, Rick
A decimal number has a binary (base 2) representation. In binary, each digit is a 0 or a 1.
1d = 1b
2d = 10b
3d = 11b
4d = 100b
...
16d = 10000
The fifth place (from the right) is the sixteen's place in a binary number. Now, these individual digits are commonly called "bits" which is a term invented by Claude Shannon. Each bit means something different to the climate computer.
Let's say that your P2 version is currently 144. In binary this is 10010000. Note that the sixteen's bit is set. Adding another sixteen, 144 + 16 = 160 which is 10100000. We've turned off the sixteen's bit by adding yet another 16. It was already set with the value 144.
By the way, the most convenient way (for me) to compute the binary representation of a number is using Windows Calculator. Select "View | Scientific" from the menu bar, enter a number in decimal and hit the "Bin" radio button.
Matt, Thanks for the tutelage on the base 2 I guess I don't get the binary breakdown. I knew computers use series of 1's and 0's for encoding but would that it was Greek to me (I still remember a bit of my three yrs of classical Greek) but this is not clear to me now.
Anyway, I didn't screw up by adding 16 to the 136 as you replied in another post of mine about this same a/c issue. Where do I find the postings here for that blower motor regulator? Still haven't found anything about it. Thanks again, Rick
