The tires and wheels are OEM with good pressure and tread life. If the lower control arm bushings don't do the trick I'll post it and see if anyone has any other ideas.

I purchased a set of lower control arm bushings with the same thought in mind.

Yet I was told that mine are perfectly fine.

I'd be shocked if two mechanics wouldn't take my money to do a repair, needed or not.

I actually went to two indys requesting the LCA bushings be done, and both told me no.

Wow I have pretty much the exact same issues... I got diagnosed both balljonts were loose and I had them replaced. Indy also noticed Lower Control Arm bushing was beginning to tear, and very slight play in front driver tie rod end. I only had the balljoints replaced so far but there's still a wobble noise, though it doesnt give me an uneasy sensation like I'm losing control or anything...
Seeing so many people with the same problem now, makes me think if I get everything else done, it won't even correct the problem. What should we do? Just tell our shop to disassemble the entire front end and it put it all back together with new parts? This is where DIY comes in handy but I dont even have the tools or the time to do this work...

A $60k car with suspension slop noises of a $20k car... makes me want to trade this car in on an E55 with a better suspension, or even (gasp) a 5 series... (alright I take that back) heh.

I had this same problem after a tire rotation last year. Wobbling sound and veering to the right. I told the guys at GoodYear to be extra carefull when they are working on cars like this. I waited and drove the car for several weeks and decided to change my tires entirely, and went for an alignment, $150., realignment and the irritating sound went away.
I hope this helps.

And also that irritating sound coming from the back sit, my wife yelling, " what's that noise, what's that noise", . . . . went away with it too ! Haaaaaah, sigh. LOL !

I got new tires also before I got the balljoints and the tires are great as far as I can tell. No tire noise to speak of. I'm 90% sure it's my torn LCA bushing now that I have read more. If this thing is filled with fluid and the fluid has leaked out over 8 years of driving, then that makes sense. I'm going to have it in to my Indy shop for this bushing work, and have them look for any other worn out bushings here in like a month or so. It's agonizing just dropping hundreds of dollars here and there on minute yet annoying issues popping up on this car.
I told the Indy shop that the dealer advised me to get 4 new shocks, and the Indy shop was like Ha, 54k miles and you need new shocks? Your shocks are fine... I wish I had a friggin huge garage with a lift of my own.

So I had the lower control arm bushings replaced and there is a marked improvement to the overall feel of the front end but I'm still getting that vibration from the right front end. There is definitely something amiss in that area of the car. Should I be thinking about struts? My springs are fine, I've had the tires balanced and rotated, ball joints, sway bar bushings and tie rods done and the lower control arm bushings. There is no mistaking that it is only an issue from the right front end. If I hit a pothole or bump on the left side it just glides right over and feels fine, right front end has that bouncy feeling like when you dribble a basketball really quickly real close to the ground. It may be the most irritating sensation of all times!!! What am I missing?

Good to hear that the LCA bushings helped, I'm getting them done on my car next week. I do notice that type of sound you're describing as well. Almost like a paddle ball is being smacked at a very fast pace, that makes the wobble sound... My tech said my LCA bushing is torn and my tie rod end had "some play" So I'm just dropping it off for a day, telling them to fix anything with the suspension that is wrong. Make it sound like a Mercedes should...

Yes! The paddle ball describes it perfectly. I'll be interested to hear what your guy has to say after he looks at it, hopefully the diagnosis will help.

Well I thought it was just going to be bushings, but my tech now says the shock is not traveling the way it should. They twisted my arm and yep, it's 2 new shocks up front at a berzerk cost of $842 bilstein parts and labor. Oh well, I'm trying to keep this car long term, unless gas goes to $10/gallon, so I want to make it perfect and enjoy it.
They said the noise you're hearing is probably the rubber mounts at the top or bottom of the shock (rubber biscuits I've heard them called), and you can't buy them seperately from the actual shock, or so they said. So I'm doing the whole strut assembly, shocks, biscuits, whatever, it better ride and sound perfect. 8 years old and 55k miles. So far I've dropped $2000 on balljoints, tires, and now shocks. Now my killer deal of $14k for this car doesn't seem that killer.
