Diagnostic Reader E300 turbo 1998

1998 E300 Turbo DieselI have not been able to find a code reader to reset the service code for scheduled maintance. The local dealer said the only way was to bring it in. What code reader will work with the diesel?

I believe...

you can re-set service indicators from the buttons on the left side of your instrument cluster.

Check your owner's manual.

+1 with E-Class Owner; I think I saw instructions in the owner's manual for my car.

per above

its in the owners manual.
or with doors closed
Key on (position 2, all idiot lights come on, engine NOT running)
PUSH the trip odometer reset(O) knob twice rapidly, the time/distance remaining for FSS is shown.
PUSH button in and hold it in.
Turn key OFF (DON"T release the button!)
Turn key back to position 2....KEEP holding the button down!
You'll need to hold it down over 10 seconds, you'll hear the beep and 10000 will be the new display. let go of the button when it beeps.

obd2 scanner will not reset fss if that was what you were thinking, however if you need to read a check engine light code the 94169 obd2 scanner from
