How to enter a radio code

i have a 1999 E220 CDI. I have just refitted the Mercedes CD Player/Radio. I have the original code which matches the serial number of the radio, I enter the 5 digit code but then nothing happens. I guess I am mising something? can anyone help please?

on my stereo, once you have entered all the corret numbers you then have to press in and hold the right knob for 3 secs.... I'll get the instruction manual if that doesnt work..

take it to the dealer, its free and they will do it for you, the other thing, how many times has it been entered? you only have so many chances, and so many tries. dealer is free to do it, take it to them
