Oil Change for 99 300 Diesel
Is the oil change procedures for the 99 300D similar to the oil change DIY posted at DIY sticky?
Is the oil filter and drain plug at the same locations as the V6?
Thanks

The filter is at the rear of the engine, on the left (driver's) side. The drain plug is on the left side of the pan, and is impossible to miss.
I recommend using a suction device though, rather than using the drain plug. I get more oil out of my 606 that way.

Doing the suction you might miss the black oil running down your sleeves
Easy job with MityVac. Get the filter in advance, since they are not too popular and hard to find.

Does it use the same oil filter wrench that we use for the V6?
I have the diesel oil filter.

I haven't changed the oil in a V6, so I don't know. It is a rather large nut. I wrapped a layer or two of masking tape around the hex on mine, and that way it fits a large SAE socket that I already own.
