Here's my setup, from the previous W210. I wired my V1 to the power from sunroof control unit. I also have the remote display, and replaced the LEDs in the display w/ different color one, so quick glance at the display would let me know which band trigger the radar.

Zam,
Have you wired the S class?

I've noticed that your detector is mounted behind the black dotted area on the windscreen. Does that not interfere with the signal detection?

Not at all. I did test & validated that no inteference whatsoever happen, even on laser. I also reprogram the V1 to ignore the X band, so it won't bother w/ the garbage from door opener sensor. I worked couple years on radar engineering for DOD back @ the old day at Hughes, so I know a bit about this stuff

More questions for Zam
Zam,
I also want to get rid of the power cord an my Valentine. It seems like the power cable uses standard telephone plugs. Did you just cut the supplied wire and spliced that in? Would the dome light power also do? Has the internal wiring been replaced with different wiring? Is there any color coding used in the supplied cable for negative and positive?
Peter I know its a simple idea but I have been trying to think of a good 12v supply for the V1 and that never crossed my mind! Thank you for the small bit of genius there!
