I unplugged my two dash speakers in the corners of the dash. The Tele-aid annoyance went away, and the stereo does not suffer at all, because these 2 crappy little speakers are used for the Tele-aid only, I have heard.
Keep searching for threads on this, someone posted a pdf attachment which details how to pop off the plastic speaker grill, pull out the speaker (it's not screwed down) and unplugg the plastic connectors. Cheapest DIY thing ever...
I got the same problem on my 2000 C280. I just called my local MB dealer (Barrier in Bellevue) and they told me that it is the teleaid that is producing the loud noise. They can remove the analog teleaid system, but it would run my anywhere from $280 to $420. He also said that Mercedes is advising people not to remove the analog system as it could harm other components in the car (e.g. your radio)
I am definitely not spending $300 on getting that thing removed. If there is anybody that has stopped the teleaid noise, please help us out here.
Thank guys
I just cut the lead wire to the two speakers in the upper corners of the dash. These speakers only were for the phone and teleaid. Now no noise when starting and the radio and cd are not affected and still sound good.

I solved the loud noise on start up by simply disconnecting the wires from the two teleaid speakers (one at each end of the dash on top). Access is from the end of the dash. These speakers are not part of the Boise sound system.
