I picked up a set of the five spoke 2004 CLK wheels with tires really cheap and put them on my E this weekend. Painted the calipers red and man do they look great. Really updated the look of the car. They have 225/45 front and 245/45 rear with no issues. They look like they came on the car.
guys on my e320 99 i have the w211 rims the mb dealer sell me the rims and looks fantastic i will take a picture and posted asap but in my opinion the car look better whit open rims that the oem rims that are close
No issues other than the fact you have tires on the rear that are 7/10 of an inch taller and spin about 25 plus fewer revs per mile. Profile is a proportion of tire width 45% of 245 is a taller tire.Hope it does not affect the abs or the cruise control. ohlord
A 255 /40 on the rear would be a no issue tire

This post is useless without pictures.

I hope you got new lug bolts to go with those rims. The 211 rims use different
diameter bolt, as well as ball seat radius compared to your 210 wheels. If you
are still using the 210 bolts on your 211 wheels, the fitment will be poor.
Sorry guys, I've been a little distracted.
1.) I did get the lugs that were on the CLK wheels originally.
2.)Not sure about the 245 vs. 255 but they came with fairly new tires and I will replace them ith 255's when the time comes. I haven't noticed any issues thus far.
3.) Pictures.
Well, that and get the correct-size tire on the front to close up that gap some more.
Rocketcaddy, they do look good but since they're staggered wheels the conventional wisdom is you'll have to stay that way (not recommended to put the same size tire on different width rims as it *can* adversely affect handling). Your stock equiv size (and the largest you can run on the front without rubbing suspension parts) is 235/45-17, you can run the 245/45-17 in the back just fine. Your speedo will read slow, just back off a bit.

Raymond - this picture illustrates the main question well. I agree that the custom bolts will create a good fit, with the 14mm ball seat and the 12mm diameter threaded shaft.
What I am wondering is - with the custom lug bolts, will that wider ball seat direct more force upon the 12mm shaft than it can take, as opposed to the wider 14mm shaft found on the W211 bolts?
That is the weak point, I think. When they made the 14mm ball seat, they also made a wider diameter shaft. So when you take a custom bolt with a wide, 14mm ball seat and mate it to a 12mm diameter shaft, will that shaft be able to support the forces exerted upon it at the point where the curved ball seat meets the threaded shaft?
