1998 e320 A/C Blowing, but not as hard as it should
I just purchased a 1998 e320 from my father who told me the day he gave it to me that the A/C was acting up ironically. He said he always leaves it on AUTO at 74, and that when starting the car (we live in Florida) it would start blowing hard to get the cabin temperature down to 74 but that it was coming out real weak.. When you try to turn up the A/C it stays at the same blow strength, which seems like 25%. The Air coming out is cool, but I was hoping someone could direct me as to what to check for. Thanks.
thanks ohlord.... I peeped that out, looks easy enough and sounds exactly like my issue, thanks for the speedy response...
as far as the cabin filters go... theres a major price diff between the set with activated charcoal ($87) and without ($17) ... do you really think Im going to notice or be missing anything if I go the cheaper route on those? I noticed that it reccommends changing every year or 15000 miles.
is two different sets of filters, the cheap set is your cabin filters that are in use every time you use the climate control which is like all the timeThe other set are in a different place and they are the pollution/odor/pollen filters used in smelly areas the little symbol on the climate control, they have activated charcoal to absorb odors.Every few years for those.
I have seen the regular cabin filters so plugged up that the fan seemed to be not running full speed simply because it was trying to push air through a blanket of dirt.Follow the diy and operate the fan.
