My wife just bought a 1998 E320 with 86,122 miles. The engine seems to be idling a little rough. I thought that it might be the engine mounts but when your driving it sound fine. Also when it's in park it sound fine. It only happens when your in drive and stopped(like at a red light). It sound rough like a deafening humming. The steering wheel doesn't shake much but you can definitely feel shaking in the dash and in the seats.
So, I'm a new Mercedes-Benz owner myself and I'm wonder is this a serious problem or can this be fixed by recalibrating the RPM s to Idle correctly?
Any suggestions or tips are appreciated! Thanks for reading.

Hi,
This does sound like Engine mounts & you won't feel them much while driving more likley when idling you will feel the roughness/ vibration!
hope this helps!
Thanks for the feed back. Yeah i was hopeing that was not the case. I got an appointment with a mech on friday. Will post results, cost, that sort of thing.
in the diy section, mounts are only 50 bucks a side from autohausaz.com
usually you would have a check engine light if it was a misfire issue.Sounds like mounts, inspect the spring perches while down there.
