Anyone willing to sell 00-01 E320 Wheels?
Hi guys I usually swim around the W124and W202forums but I was thinking of getting new wheels for my Stock W124 89'. The 2000-2001 E320 have nice wheels which go along with the multiple hole styling cues of the E-Class. I was wondering if anyone located near the East Coast would be selling them or just wanting to get rid of them.
I'am looking for No Curb rashes, Dents, rust, Paint Peeling or bent rims, hmm a full set too. The reason I only want the East Coast Is because I am doing a Road Trip from NY to Florida and back up through the Appalachain Mountians and through the famed Blue Ridge ParkWay. So I thought why not pic them up in person? I don't need the tires But if you don't want them/ they are already on and it costs $ just to get the tires off I'll still take them. I will be leaving on Friday 03/07 and coming back up next Thursday 03/13 Oh for reference I am talking about these:
Specs I found from my Research 16''X7.5 ET41<Well Within W124 Specs

Thanks ohlord but man that is one of the worst curb rashings i have ever seen. He posted on benzworld as well. I love 15's because of the ride quality and 16's would be a minor adjustment but jumping over to 17'' I would lose too much. The price is also too high for me since I am a college kid on a budget as well

Man, college transport have move upmarket since I was a student. I guess for some of us here it was the a choice between a 1 horse or a 2 horse buggy.

Yep working 4 summers straight pays off in life. Not so much in the upmarket though. Very few people in the parking lot have really nice cars. My dormmates and I park our cars in groups and leave ample room to non-Merc/irresponsible college drivers side doors so they don't leave us a nice denting paint chip presents. We drive nicer cars, but older nice cars, you now from a ridiculously suped up Chevy Truck a Chevy4X4 Acura legends, to a 1990Porsche 944S2Cabriolet-that needs alot of electrical work and a new interior but other wise 80K healthy I-4 3.0 5spd. =) Yeah I have been working on my buddy's Porsche for a while so I have grown a liking to Porsche.
If "being on a budget" allows you to spend couple thousand on cosmetic upgrades that you don't need, than I can only wonder how big is your weekly allowance?
You go on long trip with no passengers and no luggage? I assume you measured, that 4 wheels will take almost all the space in the trunk and rear seat?

My weekly allowance is between 80.00-85.00 dollars a week because I work 8 hrs on the weekend to like have a little to save, a little for that peice that wears out on the car, gas, and well food.
I can carry three rims easily in the back trunk and the forth most likely I will wrap in a towel and place it in the back seat. Though It looks like it may fit in the back with the other three.if I remove the Carpet Liner it may fit snugly.-
I may be going with a passenger and she'll be in the front. This will cut my costs to half that amount in total spending minus the food you know.
Lastly Kajtek1, Why would you say:
'(If "being on a budget" allows you to spend couple thousand on cosmetic upgrades that you don't need, than I can only wonder how big is your weekly allowance?)'
You came off as being rude to me a little. But I think maybe you are just confused? Like tonight I just finished reupholstering the canvas on my Sun/MoonRoof Slide for my W202 (which I will be driving for the trip) on my own with 3M 3088 Spray Adhesive and cleaning it with Turtle Power Out and Goof Off to remove the old foamy stuff and glue. The piece costs $478 if I got it at the dealer instead I spent 20.99 at auto zone and homedepot. yeah so much for thousands.
You have not seen my cars what cosmetic upgrades do you think I do not need? I was on classifieds that list Mercedes wheels from $50-$250 for the 00-01 rims I am looking for so I still do not see the thousands. Granted the $50 is for one and the $250 may be for the set but kinda off course of where im driving but still. When the Old Stock Rims of the W124 are looking worn out and its a project car that will most likely when completed by 2010 be driven rarely just-for-fun-Sunday-mornings its worth the investment rather than repairing and refinishing the old rims.
I am pretty sure I am on budget with this trip and I am hoping to enjoy it. I saved my money to enjoy it in a moment I think best and it will be on my Spring break and my W124's new set of wheels.
Sorry if I offended you with the $2000 guess. But just because someone sells beaten up rims for $250, that doesn't mean you get your demanded perfection for the same amount.
Have to admit that having sons in your age I wonder too often "What da heck is this guy thinking?"
Where in Florida will you be going? I have a set from my 01' E320. They are not perfect but still pretty nice. How does $100 for the set with tires sound? I am in Fort Lauderdale.
