I am getting frustrated. I have pored over my Owner's Manual and I can not find anything that would help.
The problem is that the mirrors do not move when the seat position selector is depressed for another seat position. I read somewhere on here in a different model forum about "Normalizing" or something like that. Can anyone tell me how to accomplish this? The references all say "read your owner's manual to find the process" well I can't find it!
Here are a couple of other related mirror issues that may or may not effect the problem:
Driver side view mirror does not heat up when Defogger is on.
Driver side view mirror moves in reverse for the up/down actuator (i.e. push joystick down mirror tilts up. Side to side works fine though)

If the battery/power was recently disconnected you may have to reprogram the mirrors. I don't believe there is a reset procedure. Have you tried reprogramming button 1 and 2 for different positions and testing?
As for your other question, I don't recall which way the mirror goes on the fore/aft toggle. Which way does your passenger mirror toggle go?
And I could be mistaken but I believe I read that the outside mirror heating is fully automatic and independent of anything else (ie defogger/heater).
