I have been poking around. I am trying to find any info on Ticking Lifters for a 112 engine. This is my 98 E320 Wagon. I saw the write up for the 119. The problem is I can not find the Oil Guides at Autohaus so I was wondering if we even have them on the 112?
Any thoughts y'all?

conventional galleys and oil passages.Throw in a bottle of atf fluid run it at an idle for 15 minutes and drain and change the oil if you can find 5w40 mobil syn try it and see if it helps those worn cam followers.

I mean not to sound overly philosophical but what do we really KNOW? All kidding aside. I am assuming it is lifters because it is localised. If it were injectors and they were noisy because of design wouldn't it stand to reason that they would all be noisy? I am seriously asking and not trying to be a weisenheimer.
As for the ATF solution does it matter what ATF I use? I have a 2/3 full case of Mercon Dexron III. Can I just use that stuff?
Also, I did the oil change myself when I first got the vehicle. Mobil 1 0W40 was what I put in.
For the same reason that you get second opinions from Doctors. Besides, I enjoyt the witty reparte. There are a lot of owners here who have done things any number of ways. I like to read what people's different take on things are.
As the old cliche goes, there is more than one way to skin a cat (as barbaric as it sounds, although they do taste good scattered, smothered, and chunked). To that end, why subscribe to the WIS and solely rely on that for the only information? If you were to do that then it would be logical to say that the only acceptable way to maintain one of these beauties is to take it to the dealer for everything. I prefer to take a more egalitarian approach and draw upon the knowledge of the enthusiast community. The WIS is a very important and valuable tool, as is the forum.
