I also have a fuel gage problem.Mine is when I fill up it only goes to the last line but not all the way up. The tank is full but the gage doesn't indicate as full.

I think both of you have a sending unit problem but I don't remember reading about any fixes on here; typically, I think people just replace them. Hopefully someone will know of a way to fix or tweak them back to accuracy. Good Luck!

^^1+...yes it sounds like you need to replace your fuel sending unit.
Can't it be just the gage that isn't precise or stuck.
I think I had read somewhere that someone had adjusted how the needle in his gage goes up.So it would be at the full level instead of being at the lower line.

I guess it's possible that the needle sticks, needs to be re-calibrated, or is dragging along the clear covering because it became mis-aligned. This might be worthy of a search, but I only remember the "replace the sending unit" fix already mentioned.
Have never seen reliable fuel gauge in my life. I always set daily meter at fill up and drive by it. When I get new (for me) vehicle I usually take a full fuel can with me and drive on reserve. Diesels don't like to be run dry, but I ran on reserve light for 60 miles and when I need it, I know I am safe on reserve for at least 50.
