I was wondering about that one - so you have to remove the glovebox to get the passenger vent out?
For the central vent, you have to remove the whole center stack, radio, aircon controls, wood trim, etc.

no you don't have to remove the glove box but it you will have to remove the wood trim piece. Removing the trim makes it easier to remove the glove box.
The passenger side process is similar to the driver side but you don't have to drop the bottom of the dash.

I think the light switch get its backlight from the same bulb as the vent wheel - in the picture the white portion above the light pickup for the vent.
Is that correct are you sure? you have to remove whole center stack for that one bulb? That sucks!

Yes you have to, even though it's not as difficult as it sounds provided you have the radio removal tools.
Sorry I did not do a nice tutorial as that of Kobus. Just before and after pictures when I did it a couple of years ago.
Hope it helps.

Just checked out this thread again. It took a bit of searching to find. I thought it would be in the DIY stickys but I didn't see it there. Maybe I just missed it but it seems like it would be worthy of getting stickied.
