In order to get my Gateway 500 working for my iPod while keeping the ability to play the odd CD I had to buy the Audio 10. It cost me about $700 to play/charge/control my iPod in this car, but it was worth it.
Oops, Invisible glass does contain water and a hydrocarbon blend. Must have been enough hydrocarbons to evaporate quickly. I was lucky.
