New Lighting Questions

Hi all,

I want to redo my headlights. I was wondering if it is hard to replace them. Also, where should I buy the new ones from. I want the ones with the beam lens on them.

Thanks

Hey, MB, welcome to the forum.

There is lots of information in here about headlights, what to avoid, etc. General rule, you can avoid E-bay. Also, update your profile with your location information, this is an international forum and it's hard to tell you where to look for anything without knowing that first.

Be forewarned, many of the aftermarket "projector" style headlights will actually result in WORSE nighttime vision than the stock halogen reflectors. In most cases this is all about wanting a look, which is fine: but if you cheap out on it you've increased the odds of hitting something because you can't see it. To do it right will cost you a decent amount of money; check the sticky links at the top for the discussions about the converted depo units, etc. and use the search function for more beyond that.

If you're simply looking for better light, as ohlord has mentioned get the converted H9 to H7 bulbs from danielsternlighting.com and polish your headlight lenses, no disassembly required and better light. This you can do for under $80 and some elbow grease. I believe that info is also in one of the stickies. Plus you don't have to take anything apart.

For the post-facelift, which includes your car, it is made more difficult by having to remove the bumper.

Take care and enjoy the ride,
Greg
