This is a general question. Is there an SRS indicator or "button" along the top of the interior of a 2000 E320 to indicate that the car has side curtain airbags? I have a 2000 E320 (made in 1999) that has "SRS" on the steering column; on the dashboard (passenger) and on the doors (torso front and back); but I don't see something similar along the top of the inside of the car to show side curtain (head) air bags. Everything I see, owner's manual and internet, says that side curtain is standard front and back in 2000. Other cars I see have something that shows "SRS" up top but I don't see it on this car.
The owner's manual for my 2000 E320 model shows a drawing of where the curtain and side airbags deploy from. In the drawing, there is an "SRS" at the top of the vertical colunm that separates the front and rear doors. That "SRS" is not in that location on my car. In my care, there is nothing there. The only "SRSs" on the side on my car are the ones on the doors themselves. They are also in the drawing.
Are there any other 2000 E320 owners out there that don't have the "SRS" on the vertical colunm? I am beginning to wonder whether this car really has side curtain airbags. It is supposed to be standard equipment on the 2000 and that is one of the main reasons I bought it.
